Hi, I’m Jessia. I am currently a Deputy Editor in The New York Times Opinion department, where I oversee a team of designers, developers and art directors. You can read more about my current role in this official announcement and see my full work experience in my resume.

My work has been recognized by The Pulitzer Foundation, Malofiej, AAJA, Gerald Loeb Awards, Information is Beautiful, ASME, Society for News Design and The Society of Publication Designers among others.

I am currently based in Manhattan and grew up in Westchester, New York. I received my BFA from The Cooper Union. Fun fact: if you’ve ever been to a Xian Famous Foods, you may have seen the panda themed choking hazard poster that I designed and illustrated.
